A SacToneWorks setup ensures your guitar's fretwork, intonation, playability, and tone are dialed in precisely to your preferences.

Standard Setup – $75
Includes:

  • Truss rod adjustment – Sets proper neck relief for comfortable playability and reduced fret buzz

  • Re-string & tune (strings provided by customer) – Ensures accurate pitch and fresh feel

  • Bridge height adjustment – Sets optimal string action for smooth, responsive fretting

  • Saddle adjustment – Corrects intonation so chords and notes stay in tune across the neck

  • Pickup height adjustment – Balances output and tone for clear, dynamic sound

  • Fretboard cleaning & oil treatment* – Cleans grime and conditions the wood to extend fretboard life

  • Hardware tightening & lubrication – Prevents rattles, wear, and improves mechanical stability

  • Full cleaning & polish – Enhances the appearance and protects the finish

  • Electronics test – Confirms that pickups, switches, and jacks function correctly

  • High fret diagnosis – Identifies any raised frets that could cause string buzz or choking

  • Nut diagnosis – Checks for string binding, improper height, or wear that impacts tuning stability and playability

  • Nut Filing – $20
    Ensure proper string movement and optimal height for improved tuning stability and playability

  • Fret Polish – $30
    Achieve a shiny finish on your frets for smoother playability.​

  • Fret Edge Dressing – $30
    Eliminate the "cheese grater" feel by smoothing out sharp fret edges for a more comfortable playing experience.​

  • Fret Re-crowning – Starting at $10 per fret
    Restore the proper shape to frets, enhancing intonation and playability. (Price depends on the number of frets requiring attention.)

  • Individual Fret Level, Re-crown, and Polish – $20 per fret
    Level worn or enueven frets, re-shape them for proper intonation, and polish them smooth for smooth playability and to eliminate buzzing.

  • Full Fret Level, Re-crown, and Polish – $160
    Comprehensive leveling and re-crowning of all frets to ensure optimal playability and tone across the entire fretboard + option of full set up for $30.​

  • Pickup Installation – $70 per pickup
    Upgrade or replace your guitar's pickups to achieve your desired tone. (Additional charges may apply for complex wiring or active pickup systems.)​

  • Hardware Installation – Starting at $30
    Install new hardware components such as tuners, bridges, or tailpieces to enhance your instrument's functionality and aesthetics.

  • Pick up & Drop off – $15 each way

    I’ll happily pick up and drop off your guitar if you live within or nearby the Sacramento city limits.
